The deceased, identified as Babalola Marvelous Ishola, was found lifeless by the roadside at about 5:38 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
A student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, Oyo State, has been confirmed de@d after being shot during a sign-out celebration.
The deceased, identified as Babalola Marvelous Ishola, was found lifeless by the roadside at about 5:38 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Sources said that the discovery followed a report received about a male corpse lying unattended near the road.
A team of security operatives were immediately dispatched to the scene, where the victim was identified through a search of his person.
The Dean of Student Affairs at LAUTECH also confirmed that Babalola was a student of the institution.
His body has been deposited at the morgue of the LAUTECH University Teaching Hospital for preservation.
Following the incident, police Monitoring Unit launched a sting operation which led to the arrest of sixteen suspects in connection with the shooting.
The Oyo State Police Command says investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances behind the tragic k!lling.
