A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Umar Sani has revealed how former President Goodluck Jonathan's return would affect the chances of President Bola Tinubu for a second term.

This is as Sani revealed that Tinubu is now preparing the South-South for himself.

Speaking on Friday while fielding questions on ‘The Morning Show’, a programme on Arise Television, Sani said Jonathan joining the race will upstage it.

“Tinubu is preparing these states (Edo, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers) for himself. The coming of Jonathan will upstage his efforts, as the South-South will rally strongly to support him. They simply cannot sacrifice their own son for any other consideration.

“They will come out en masse because this is their son. So they cannot sacrifice their own son for any other consideration.

“So, it will affect Tinubu more than it will affect any other candidate that is coming from the North, which is the battleground for Jonathan,” he said.
