Another Female Councillor Dies In Lagos

Shotayo represented Ward C3 in Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area in Ilupeju area of the state.

 
 
Another Lagos female councillor, Honourable Zainab Adeshewa Shotayo has passed away.
 
It was gathered that Shotayo before her d3ath, represented Ward C3 in Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area in Ilupeju area of the state.
 
Sources said Shotayo died on Monday, 18 August 2025, following a brief illness.
 
Her death comes just days after the passing of Hon. Oluwakemi Rufai, who served as councillor for Ward C1 in Ibeji Lekki Local Government.
 
Both women were the only elected female councillors in their respective councils.
 
The two councillors were elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress and had been inaugurated roughly three weeks ago.
