Some of the suspects were intercepted while attempting to escape to Abia State in vehicles.
Three persons have been arrested in connection with the m8rder of a youth leader, Udu Nnachi Uzor, in Ekoli Edda community, Edda Local Government Area of the Ebonyi state.
This is according to the Ebonyi State Police Command.
It was gathered that crisis erupted in the community two months ago, which led to multiple fatalities, including the youth leader, and the destruction of properties.
Some of the suspects were intercepted while attempting to escape to Abia State in vehicles.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Adaku Uche-Anya, confirmed the arrests to journalists at the command headquarters in Abakaliki on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
“Following the Ekoli Edda crisis, which led to the m8rder of Udu Nnachi on July 9, 2025, painstaking investigations by operatives attached to SWAT led to the arrest of Amarachi Ude, Idika Ama Okoro, and Sunday Ama Olughu. The suspects will be arraigned upon conclusion of investigations,” the CP said.
Uche-Anya assured all that the command would ensure thorough investigations and swift prosecution of all perpetrators to restore peace in the community.
