Speaking in his palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State the Ooni thanked God that Igboho did not die during his trial.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has made a promise to Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo.

He promised to help him remove his name from wanted list in Nigeria.

Igboho was declared wanted after the Department of State Services, DSS, raided his house in Ibadan, Oyo State, in July 2021.

The DSS had discovered a stockpile of arms during the raid on Igboho’s residence.

But Igboho had appealed to the Ooni to prevail on the Nigerian government to remove him from its wanted list.

However, the monarch pledged to help the Yoruba Nation agitator, adding that he has forgiven the freedom fighter for insulting him in the past.

Speaking in his palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State, over the weekend, the Ooni thanked God that Igboho did not die during his trial after he was declared wanted by the Nigerian security agencies.

He said: “I am not angry with you because I am the father of all. You are a brave man and our pride in Yorubaland, and you will not die young.

“We are going to ensure that your name is removed from the wanted list. Ile-Ife is the source of the universe, and no one wants peace and the development of Yorubaland more than I do.”
