PDP Zoning: Be Cautious of ADC – Prof Warns Peter Obi

He warned Obi to be wary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, opposition coalition.

A Professor of Political Science at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Jideofor Adibe has sent a message to Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.

He warned Obi to be wary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, opposition coalition.

Adibe made this call as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the southern region of the country.

He gave the advice on Tuesday, while responding to questions in an interview on ‘The Morning Brief’, a programme on Channels Television.

“I wouldn’t want to advise Peter Obi; he has his own advisors. At the end, he has to make his own decisions, but if I were him, I would be extremely suspicious,” he said.

Recall that the PDP and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, have already zoned their 2027 presidential tickets to southerners, with the ADC yet to do so.

Meanwhile, ADC coalition member and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from northern Nigeria, has shown interest in running for president in 2027.

The professor described Obi as someone who does not think on the surface, but always has a second plan to his decisions.

“It’s up to him to know what his own political strategists are telling him and what these moves are, but I believe that once any announcement is made, they create scenarios.

“However, I believe that in the next couple of months, it will become clearer what informed the PDP’s decision to say that they are zoning this issue,” he said.
