The Migrant Rescue Watch has announced the repatriation of 162 Nigerians, including women and children, from Libya.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the organisation disclosed that the Libyan Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM), in collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), facilitated the voluntary return of the migrants via Misrata International Airport.
"DCIM with IOM support repatriated 162 #migrants incl. women and children of Nigerian nationality via Misrata International Airport," it said.
The exercise is part of ongoing efforts to assist stranded migrants in Libya to return safely to their home countries.

The Nigerian government, in partnership with international organisations, has continued to facilitate such repatriations in recent years, with thousands of citizens brought back home from Libya and other North African countries where they faced dire conditions.
