Kemi 'Lala' Akindoju has attributed her breakthrough in the Nigerian film industry to Tunde Kelani's decision to feature her in a lead role, her first, in Dazzling Mirage.
Nollywood actress, Kemi 'Lala' Akindoju has thanked renowned documentary filmmaker, Tunde Kelani, for giving her a breakthrough by featuring her in her first lead role in a full length movie.
She made the disclosure at the free screening of Kelani’s Dazzling Mirage at the Silverbird Cinemas, Lagos.
Dazzling Mirage is a film that tells the story of a talented sickle-cell sufferer, who overcomes social stigma and prejudice to achieve her dreams.
"Dazzling Mirage is my first lead role in a movie and I think I owe Tunde Kelani a lot for taking a big risk using me as against more popular faces. TK took a big risk and today, he has made me a star", Kemi revealed.
The actress is nominated for Best Young/Promising actor at the 2015 Africa Movie Academy Award, AMAA.
