Sahara reporters are alleging that Senate President, Bukola Saraki was once charged for stealing while he was still a senior level officer in the defunct Societe General Bank of Nigeria in 1990.
According to the controversial publication, certain police Officers uncovered the dirty past of Saraki in a document where he and a group of others were actually charged with the theft of N510,000 at the bank. The publication also alleges that the officers claim that Saraki's looting crime almost liquadated the bank.
The documents where posted with the caption:
“Some police officers found out that Bukola Saraki, who is Nigeria’s Senate President, was a petty thief as of 1990, he was actually charged with theft of N510,000 at Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria. The officers warned in a report that Saraki was about to liquidate the bank by looting it, but no one listened until his siblings, cronies and relatives eventually did.”
In another report, Sahara reporters also claim that Saraki is not a Nigerian. A photocopy of his international passport carrying a British citizenship was attached to the story with the caption, “Bukola Saraki: The President of the Nigerian Senate Is not Even A Nigerian Citizen.”
