I Will Sue You If You Stop My Resumption - Natasha Warns National Assembly Clerk

The warning was contained in a letter dated September 10 and signed by her lawyer, Michael Numa (SAN).

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, has issued a serious warning to the Clerk of the National Assembly (CNA), Kamorudeen Ogunlana.

She warned Ogunlana that she will take legal action against the clerk if any move is made to stop her from resuming her legislative duties by Monday, September 15, 2025.

The warning was contained in a letter dated September 10 and signed by her lawyer, Michael Numa (SAN).

“Take notice that failure to comply by Monday, 15th September 2025, will leave us with no alternative but to initiate proceedings against you personally and in your official capacity,” the letter stated.

Numa said the CNA’s alleged refusal to obey an existing court judgment was against the law and the Code of Conduct for Public Officers.

He added that the proposed legal steps could include contempt charges, disciplinary action, and holding the CNA responsible for instigating a breach of the peace.

“We strongly advise that you reconsider your untenable stance and comply with the Constitution and extant judicial orders,” he wrote.

This development follows an earlier letter from the Acting Clerk to the National Assembly, Yahaya Danzaria, which informed Akpoti-Uduaghan that she could not resume because the matter of her suspension was still before the court.
