She added that some couples even go into debt to fund their dream wedding, reminding people that marriage should be about the couple’s happiness, not outsiders’ ratings.

Nollywood actress Omoborty has weighed in on the ongoing trend of wedding comparisons, emphasizing that the scale or glamour of a ceremony does not define the success of a marriage.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “Money can decorate a hall, but it can’t decorate marriage. So let’s stop confusing money with taste.

"They are not the same thing. The level of a wedding doesn’t equate the success of the marriage… An intimate wedding does not mean there is no money, and an elaborate wedding does not automatically prove wealth.”

She added that some couples even go into debt to fund their dream wedding, reminding people that marriage should be about the couple’s happiness, not outsiders’ ratings.

“Comparison truly irks me. People need to stop abeg!!!”
she concluded.
