INEC cautioned Nigerians to disregard the advert, which directs applicants to a fraudulent website, inecrecruitment.com, to complete their applications.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has issued a warning to Nigerians against falling for a fake recruitment website impersonating the commission.

INEC issued the warning in a statement on Wednesday.

INEC cautioned Nigerians to disregard the advert, which directs applicants to a fraudulent website, inecrecruitment.com, to complete their applications.

The body also clarified that it does not operate such a portal and described the advert as the handwork of criminal elements attempting to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

“The impostor behind this illicit recruitment exercise also asked would-be respondents to log on to an equally fake portal – www.inecrecruitment.com to complete their applications. But INEC does not have any such portal,” INEC noted in the statement.

“The Commission is not recruiting. We urge the public not to fall victim to the antics of these impostors,” INEC stated.
