Kidnapped Ex-lmo Lawmaker Ogbu Regains Freedom

This was disclosed in a statement issued to journalists on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Henry Okoye.

 
Ngozi Ogbu, a former legislator who represented Okigwe Constituency in the State House of Assembly has regained his freedom.
 
This was confirmed by the Imo State Police Command on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Henry Okoye.
 
“He was released yesterday night and the Command is working in synergy with other security agencies to make sure his abductors are apprehended and brought to book,” the statement said.
 
Recall that the former lawmaker was kidnapped last week by unknown gunmen.
 
The Police Command reassured members of the public of its unwavering commitment to security, stressing, “We are ever committed to enhancing the peace and security of everyone in Imo State.”
 
However, the statement did not disclose the circumstances surrounding Ogbu’s release.
 
It is not clear whether ransom was paid for his release.
