Obi Cubana Celebrates Former Lagos Hawker, Ekuma Jeremiah After He Bagged a Law Degree

Recall that the former roadside vendor became popular after he was filmed handing out money to inmates inside a Nigerian Correctional Service vehicle in Ajah, Lagos.

Socialite, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana has celebrated viral Lagos hawker, Ekuma Jeremiah after he earned a law degree.
 
Recall that the former roadside vendor became popular after he was filmed handing out money to inmates inside a Nigerian Correctional Service vehicle in Ajah, Lagos.
 
The clip touched millions across the country and earned him recognition, including support from Obi Cubana who awarded him a scholarship.
 
Reflecting on their encounter, Cubana revealed that Jeremiah was offered financial assistance and several lucrative opportunities.
 
However, he turned them down to focus on completing his law degree at Ebonyi State University.
 
Sharing the update via Instagram on Monday, Cubana praised Jeremiah’s decision and determination.

“On January 19, 2022, when opportunities were placed before you, you chose education! You made the best choice. Today, you are a 2025 law graduate,” he wrote.
 
The socialite commended Jeremiah’s foresight, adding that while he could have opted for short-term comfort, his choice of education has now positioned him for greater opportunities.
 
From hawking goods in Lagos traffic to graduating as a lawyer, Jeremiah’s journey has become a symbol of resilience and the transformative power of education.
 
Cubana concluded his post with a message of encouragement: “Congratulations Jerry, the world is yours!”
