A Nigerian woman has recounted a troubling account of her friend’s experience with egg donation in Lagos, describing it as a scam masked as assistance for couples facing infertility.

After initial tests confirmed she was fine, she returned the next day where she was reportedly given drugs that made her drowsy.
When she woke up, doctors allegedly told her that her egg was “bad” and that she would not be paid.
Days later, she began bleeding non-stop and, after seeking help at another hospital, was informed that her eggs had indeed been harvested and she had been injected with hormones.
