The former Labour Party presidential candidate made his reaction in a statement on Saturday, September 27, via X.

Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, has warned Nigerians to beware of AI-generated advertisements circulating online that use his image to endorse products without his authorization.

In a statement on Saturday, September 27, via X, Obi noted that the unauthorised use of his image has recently become rampant, with some individuals exploiting it to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.

“Ordinarily, I would gladly support any genuine endeavour by Nigerians that contributes positively to our nation and to the people involved, but not without authorisation.

"Unfortunately, some unscrupulous persons have exploited such images to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

"For this reason, I wish to state categorically that I am not associated with any of these advertisements,” Obi said.

He added that despite numerous rebuttals issued by his team, the fraudulent practice has continued, compelling him to once again urge the public to remain vigilant and disregard any adverts linking him to products, endorsements, or business schemes.

“I remain committed to promoting transparency, integrity, and ventures that genuinely advance the common good of our society,”
the statement concluded.
