Armed robbers reportedly attacked a home near the Junior Staff Quarters in Asaba, Delta State capital, today, September 28, and r@ped a pregnant woman during the incident.

Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, who disclosed this online, said the armed robbers have been terrorizing the area for a while. He mentioned that the assailants also carted away with the pregnant woman's jewelries, phones and even money.

He called on the local government chairman to ensure the safety of lives and property in the area so that such incidents can be a thing of the past.

He wrote: ‘’Earlier this morning, armed robbers attacked residents around Junior Staff Quarters, Asaba. Sadly, these incidents have become a recurring nightmare in Asaba Capital Territory.

In this latest attack, a pregnant woman and her children were robbed, and the woman was r€ped by the criminals. We received this report about an hour after the incident.

I wish to draw the urgent attention of Hon. Obi Kelvin Ezenyili Chairman of Oshimili South LGA, to these disturbing developments. It is also important to note that the Asaba Community Vigilante has become almost invisible within the State Capital, leaving residents vulnerable.''
