National Assembly Bars Senators, Aides From Passing Front Of Akpabio’s Office

The Office of the Serjeant-at-Arms notified lawmakers of reinforced security measures around the Senate Chamber, the gangway, and the corridor.

 
The National Assembly has issued a new order to all senators, members of the House of Representatives and their aides.
 
Senators, their aides and members of the House of Representatives have been restricted from passing the long corridor in front of the office of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
 
The Office of the Serjeant-at-Arms at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, in an internal memo on Thursday, notified lawmakers of reinforced security measures around the Senate Chamber, the gangway, and the corridor.
 
According to SaharaReporters, the memo dated October 2, addressed to the Chairman of Senate Services and signed by Brig-Gen Etido E Ekρο (retd), stated that all lawmakers and aides would be restricted from the White House lobby.
 
The memo further stated that lawmakers should disseminate the information to their aides and personal assistants.
 
“All aides or personal assistants would not be allowed into the said corridor,” the memo indicated.
