Popular Nigerian singer Teni has opened up on why she stopped giving fans money on Fridays.
 
She spoke in a video that has now gone viral.
 
The music star explained that she refuses to hand out money on Fridays because people often use it to eat in pepper soup.
 
Speaking in Pidgin English, Teni said: โ€œMe I no dey give anybody money on Friday. No no no, if you give person money on Friday, them go use your money go chop pepper soup ooh.โ€
 
Narrating a recent experience, she recounted how she once gave someone money, only for the person to spend it on a large plate of catfish pepper soup.
