Mbah stated this on Tuesday shortly after officially announcing his defection to the ruling party.

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has stated that he fell in love with President Bola Tinubu before joining the All Progressives Congress.

According to him, he fell in love with Tinubu when he announced the removal of fuel subsidy and unified the foreign exchange market during his inauguration on May 29, 2023.

Mbah stated this on Tuesday shortly after officially announcing his defection to the ruling party.

The governor stated that he was drawn to the President’s leadership style and reform-driven agenda from the outset of his administration.

“I fell in love with this president from the day he made the announcement to remove fuel subsidy and unified the foreign exchange market essentially.

“This is because, given my background as somebody who plays in the oil and gas sector, I’ve also written features in the past on why it has become necessary for the subsidy to go.

“I enjoy a very good relationship with the President, no doubt about that,” he stated.
