Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has sent a serious warning to people planning to rig in the 2027 elections.

He warned that any politician planning to rig elections should first of all write their will.

The governor gave this warning on Thursday during the October edition of Alex Otti Speaks to Abians held at the Government House, Umuahia, in a video shared on Channels Television’s YouTube page.

Otti said the will of God and the people will decide the outcome of the 2027 elections in the state.

“I have heard that some people around him say oh, they must take over this state, they must write results but the only advice I have for them is that if they truly want to write results, they should write something else before that time.

“You know what it is? Their will,” Otti said.

He was said to be responding to a question about recent remarks credited to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, who reportedly said that the All Progressives Congress would take over Abia in 2027.

His warning comes after early political manoeuvrings ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Abia State.

Recall that the Labour Party governor ended over two decades of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s dominance in the state after his victory in the 2023 poll.
