Martins explained that her meal was intended for about 200 street children who rely on her regular feeding programme for survival.

Sarah Martins, the Nollywood actress, has spoken out following her confrontation with officers of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI), who disrupted her street cooking outreach in Lekki.

Recall that the actress admitted she was wrongfully cooking on the walkway and expressed disappointment at how her charity food items were seized.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Sarah described the action as lacking empathy for the poor children meant to benefit.

Martins explained that her meal was intended for about 200 street children who rely on her regular feeding programme for survival.

According to her, many children had not eaten all day and were already excited about having a meal before the incident occurred.

She revealed that she cried not because of her confiscated cooking utensils or the loss of the food, but because the children who depended on her were heartbroken and hungry.

The actress also clarified that her street cooking initiative was not for publicity or financial gain, stressing that her social media pages are not monetized.

She said that her outreach was meant to bond with street kids and make them feel loved and valued, a mission she has pursued consistently for seven years.

Martins added that she believed the KAI officials could have allowed her to finish cooking and distribute the food before advising her to discontinue for safety reasons.
