My Eyes, Throat Hurt – Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer, Ejimakor Accuses Police of Using Teargas on Peaceful Protesters

Ejimakor, in a post on X, said he was among a large crowd assembled in front of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel for the #MNKOct20 demonstration.

Aloy Ejimakor, the lead counsel to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has cried out for help after being teargassed by the police in Abuja on Monday.

Ejimakor who was among peaceful protesters was teargassed alongside others by the Police.

He accused the police of using teargas to disperse protesters who gathered in Abuja on Monday.

Ejimakor, in a post on X, said he was among a large crowd assembled in front of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel for the #MNKOct20 demonstration when police officers fired teargas into the air.
 
He said the incident left him with irritation in his eyes and throat.
 
“I’m in front of Transcorp Hilton with a mammoth crowd that gathered for #MNKOct20 and the police just exploded teargas. My eyes and throat hurt. They’re scattering everywhere,” Ejimakor wrote.
 
Recall that the protesters had converged to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, since June 2021.
 
The rally was part of renewed calls by his supporters for the Federal Government to comply with previous court rulings ordering Kanu’s release.
