Celebrity stylist John Angel has revealed that his biggest career breakthrough came from working with Afrobeats superstar Davido, during an interview on The Link Up hosted by Echo Room Studio.

Reflecting on his journey into fashion and entertainment, Angel described styling for one of Davido’s major music projects as a defining moment in his career. When asked about his “biggest bag” the highest amount he has earned so far, he confirmed that it came from working with Davido.

“My biggest bag so far was paid by David. I’m not going to mention the exact project because people might start speculating, but yes, it was from David,” he said with a smile.

Pressed for details, Angel clarified that he earned ₦2.5 million from one of Davido’s video shoots in 2023, after initially joking that it was $25 million.

“When I said 25, I meant 2.5 — 2.5 million naira, not dollars. Please, Teddy, don’t put me on the spot,” he laughed.

He also revealed his work on the To Kill a Monster project, which further established his reputation among Nigeria’s fast-rising fashion creatives.

John Angel’s growing influence highlights the deep connection between music and fashion, as stylists like him continue to shape the visual storytelling behind Afrobeats’ biggest names.
