The Kano State Hisbah Board has confirmed the cancellation of the planned marriage between popular TikTok comedian Idris Mai Wushirya and Basira ‘Yar Guda following reports of misunderstandings and disagreements between both parties.
Dr. Mujahedeen Aminuddeen Abubakar, the Deputy Commander-General of Hisbah in charge of Special Duties, said investigations showed that the couple had agreed to the marriage mainly to escape a court case.
According to him, “Hisbah decided to withdraw the marriage plan to prevent future conflict and ensure that any union between them is based on mutual consent and proper understanding.”
Reports say Hisbah became involved after controversies erupted on social media over the wedding arrangement, with some people claiming that certain details of the planned event violated Islamic marriage principles.
Dr. Mujahedeen added that the board would return both individuals to court for the next legal step.
