Media personality, Chioma Ahaghotu has warned poor women living in Nigerian not to marry poor men.

She stated this in a post on her Facebook page.

Speaking on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, she described the “poor man + poor woman” union as a 'tragedy written in sweating and unpaid bills'

According to her, children bear the brunt of such unions due to lack of access to essential resources and parental care while the women not only hustle to provide for the family but also play wife, mother, cleaner, chef, and therapist.

"If you’re a poor Nigerian woman living in Nigeria, honestly, you’re better off staying single than marrying a poor man , because you will suffer. Let me explain," she wrote.

P00rs don't make a comfortable. The “poor man + poor woman” combo is often a tra*gedy written in sweating and unpaid bills. Once you add children, the struggle multiplies.

The woman will hustle outside to contribute, then still come home to play wife, mother, cleaner, chef, and therapist, all on empty stomach and low battery. The more children come, the deeper the suffering digs in.

Meanwhile, when papa Obinna comes back home, he goes outside to nara breeze or watch football.

She’ll do every chore, and if she dares to ask for help, he’ll say she’s nagging him.

This is not the time of your parents, you will suffer enh. Aguru aghuo gi anya.

Before you come here now to argue, why do you want to relate to this story so much that you feel personally outraged? Owu ihe oma that two poor people go marry in 2025. Ok na I dash you."
