A former aspirant for Federal House of Representatives, Chief Edozie Njoku, has spoken out about the need for people to speak up about worrying events in Nigeria.

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka

Chief Edozie Njoku who also worked as an agent for President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2007 presidential election, yesterday, challenged the fiery preacher, Rev. Fr. Mbaka and other supporters of the president to speak up now over the deadly attack of armed security agencies on Igbo youths during the 50th year anniversary of declaration of Biafra.

According to Breaking Times, Chief Njoku said that the respected voices across the Igbo land in particular and Nigeria in general should all roundly condemn the attack and that anything short of that would amount to conspiracy of silence on their part.

The former National Assembly hopeful said he is very disappointed with the way the Federal Government has been handling issues that pertain to the Igbos, calling on the president to re-strategise.

“Enough is enough, soldiers don’t have to kill protesters, Buhari is supposed to be a father to all Nigerians irrespective of tribal, ethnic, religious or political leanings, that is why he is addressed as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Consider the level of havoc, mayhem and grief Fulani herdsmen have caused the nation, yet there is no record that the federal government and her security agencies has openly opened fire on them. Carrying on like this will give an impression that some people are first class citizens while some others are mere slaves in their fatherland.”

Chief Njoku who said he is a strong supporter of President Buhari’s disciplined character especially his anti-graft disposition pointed out that he is getting disappointed and dissatisfied with the way the government of the day is treating the Igbos.

“That is why people like Fr Mbaka and myself who supported Buhari must now start crying out. Enough is enough of this selective justice and intimidation of the Igbos who are unarguably the ones giving Nigeria a life line through their patriotism and enterprise,” he declared
