Speaking during the November Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption City Campground, Adeboye said the war against terrorism would only succeed if those financing the violence are brought to justice, regardless of their influence or political power.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on the Federal Government to expand its counterterrorism strategy beyond confronting insurgents, to also uncovering and dismantling the networks financing them.

Speaking during the November Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption City Campground, Adeboye said the war against terrorism would only succeed if those financing the violence are brought to justice, regardless of their influence or political power.

“When giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, the President should make it clear that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists but also the sponsors, no matter how powerful they may be,” he said.

Adeboye advised President Bola Tinubu to act decisively and diplomatically to end the k!llings across the country. He warned that Nigeria could not afford to rely on foreign nations for help in the event of a major conflict, stressing the need for homegrown solutions.

The cleric also expressed concern over recent claims by President Tinubu that the nation’s security situation had improved, saying such reports do not reflect the realities Nigerians face.

“I almost spoke last month when I heard the section of the President’s speech that claimed all is well. Whoever wrote that part of the speech does not like him. People are still being k!lled and displaced,”
Adeboye stated.

He urged the government to focus on results rather than rhetoric, noting that the security challenges predate the current administration but must now be decisively tackled.

Adeboye further called for unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, recalling a time when Christians and Muslims lived harmoniously before politics deepened divisions.

He concluded with optimism that peace would eventually return to the country, urging Nigerians to remain steadfast and prayerful.
