A newborn baby has been rescued after being abandoned in Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

According to the statement, the abandoned infant was found in the Small London area of Wamba on Sunday and handed over to the appropriate authorities for immediate medical evaluation and care.
In an update, Zaharadeen revealed that the mother of the child has been identified but the baby won't be released to her due to her act of neglect.
“Following the discovery of a newborn baby boy earlier today in Small London, Wamba, we wish to inform the general public that the mother of the child has been identified. She hails from a village in Wamba known as Bambu,” the statement read.
"After careful consideration of the circumstances surrounding the incident, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Lawal Musa Nagogo, has directed that the baby should not be released to the mother due to her act of neglect.
"However, the mother will be permitted to visit the Oriye Rindre palace in Wamba solely to breastfeed the baby under supervision, after which she will return to her residence.
"The baby remains under the care and protection of his royal highness and community authorities, receiving appropriate medical attention and support.
“We appreciate the swift and compassionate responses from community members, hospital staff, and all individuals who have shown concern. This situation serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the lives and welfare of innocent children.”
