Nollywood actor, Kunle Afod, announced the unfortunate passing of Baba Gebu in a post via his Instagram page.

The Nollywood industry has been plunged into mourning following the de@th of veteran actor Prince Oyewole Olowomojuore, widely known as Baba Gebu.

Kunle Afod expressed sadness over the de@th of the movie star.

In the emotional post, Afod described Baba Gebu as a great legend, stressing that he passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after battling an undisclosed illness.

While sharing some pictures of the deceased, Kunle Afod prayed that the legend’s gentle soul would rest in peace.

He wrote, “It saddens my heart as I announce the passing away of our great legend, a great actor who passed away this evening after a brief illness… BABA GEBU may your soul rest in peace …”

Baba Gebu had a long and distinguished career in the Nigerian film industry, particularly in Yoruba-language cinema, contributing to several major productions.

In 2024, he spoke publicly about the de@th of his wife and explained that returning to active acting helped him cope and avoid depression.

Many Nollywood actors, including Afod, supported him as he sought to continue his work in the movie industry.
