Nollywood actress Bamike Adenibuyan, popularly known as BamBam, has revealed that she avoids taking on deep spiritual or diabolical roles when she is not mentally or spiritually prepared.

She made this known in an interview with Saturday Beats.

The mother of two explained that her level of sensitivity as an actor guides the scripts she accepts.

She said acting demands full concentration and emotional strength, and she prefers not to take on roles that may affect her mind or spirit if she is not prepared.

She said: “I am a very sensitive actor. I try to avoid deeply spiritual films, especially when I’m not sure or spiritually ready for them.”

Speaking about her role as Chioma in Love in Every Word, she said she first tried to understand the character’s inner life before adding her own touch to make the performance real.

She said: “When you get a script, you step into the role of that character. I got to understand Chioma’s personality and added a part of me to make her real. Acting is about understanding where your character is coming from so you can react as they would.”

Since leaving the reality show, Bambam has featured in Inspector K, Backup Wife and Foreigner’s God, where she acted alongside her husband Teddy A.
