Defence Minister: Senate Screens Ex-Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa

If confirmed, Musa will replace a former defence minister, Mohammed Badaru, who resigned from the position.

The Senate has commenced the screening of retired General Christopher Musa, former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), for the position of Minister of Defence.

The screening followed Musa’s nomination by President Bola Tinubu.

Earier, Tori News reported that President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday nominated Musa as Minister of Defense.

Musa served as Chief of Defence Staff from 2023 until October 2025. He won the Colin Powell Award for Soldiering in 2012.
