Nigerian singer Davido has called out Jubril A. Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, over a social media post promoting Wizkid’s upcoming concert.
Gawat shared a poster for Wizkid’s December 28 show at TBS, describing the singer in a way that drew praise from fans.
He used the caption: “Ọmọ Wa ni ”.
One fan commented on Wizkid’s influence in Lagos.
“Wizkid is the face of Lagos. Baba Bolu always promote Lagos.” Gawat replied: “Yes correct. We are proud of him.”
When another fan mentioned Davido, Gawat replied that his principal was proud of Wizkid.
“Ore oga nko?”
Davido reacted sharply, telling Gawat to move on from past issues.
He also referenced a previous tweet by Gawat, urging him to let the matter go.
“Bro it’s been a year let it go … why e still dey do u .. grow up. Since yesterday… let it go nah … cheer up.”

This online exchange is not the first between the two.
In September 2024, Davido and Gawat clashed over political matters following the Edo State governorship election.
The feud began when Davido criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission, calling it dangerous.
Gawat, an APC member, responded cryptically, while Davido continued to challenge him, referencing their past encounters with Governor Sanwo-Olu.
