President Bola Tinubu has sent a letter to the Nigerian Senate seeking approval for the deployment of Nigerian troops to the Benin Republic.

Earlier, Tori News reported that there was a coup attempt in Cotonou following an attack on President Patrice Talon’s residence in the Le Guézo neighbourhood early Sunday.

Recall the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, had executed a coordinated operation alongside Beninese authorities in an attempt to contain the coup.
