Mother of 6, Professor Amina Mohammed has revealed Nigerian superstar singer from the south-south part of the country, Timi Dakolo turned down an opportunity to perform at a recent state function.

Minister of Environment, Mrs Amina Mohammed

Honourable Minister of Environment, Mrs Amina Mohammed revealed that singer Timi Dakolo rejected their offer to perform at the Ogoni clean up launch in Rivers state.

While thanking everyone who contributed to the success of Ogoni clean up launch, she added that the singer turned down their invitation to perform at the event.

The reason(s) behind Timi Dakolo's decision can't be ascertained but rumours have it that it might not be far from security threats on the life of President Muhammadu Buhari at the scheduled event by Niger Delta militant or his close affiliation to the immediate past president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

He performed at several campaign events of the Otuoke native during the 2015 presidential election before Buhari edged him out.
