A graduate of the University of Calabar met his doom as he tried to help a lady in distress.
A 35 year old man simply known as Ita, died on Friday 29th May, from gun shot wounds.
According to sources, the deceased heard a lady screaming in distress as she was being robbed.
The man who's a graduate of the University of Calabar was in his room with his friend where he lived on Goldie Street, Calabar, when he decided to go help the woman.
He asked his friend to join him, but the friend kicked against the suggestion, so he decided to go alone.
Ita reached the place the screams was coming from and the robbers immediately shot him in the chest multiple times.
He died from the gunshot wounds four days later.
Cross River has been plagued by violence in the last few months, with most the cases being cutism-related.
