A US-based TikToker has reacted to footage showing popular boxer, Anthony Joshua being assisted out of his car by pedestrians, rather than emergency responders, following a serious accident in Ogun State on December 29.
The TikTok user criticized Nigeria’s healthcare and emergency response systems, arguing that despite frequent displays of wealth, the country lacks basic infrastructure.
He pointed out that Joshua, a globally renowned athlete who has earned over $100 million from his career, was helped by bystanders instead of trained emergency personnel and was reportedly taken away in a police vehicle due to the absence of an ambulance.
According to him, the incident highlights deeper systemic issues and exposes a sharp contrast between public displays of affluence and the reality of inadequate emergency services.
