Speaking in Enugu State, Obi, a former Anambra State governor, had announced his defection from the Labour Party to the ADC.

Demola Olarenwaju, Senior Political Assistant to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has described Peter Obi’s defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as “historical.”

Olarenwaju urged followers of Atiku and Obi to work together and ensure a joint ticket.

Posting on X, he noted that the future of Nigerians is not secure under President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking in Enugu State, Obi, a former Anambra State governor, had announced his defection from the Labour Party to the ADC.

Reacting to the development, Olarenwaju wrote: “Peter Obi’s move to ADC is a historical pivot, repeatedly predicted by some of us – seeing the sun at midday is however not a sign of great eyesight, it is rather the ability to see the sun at midnight that proves our imagined reality as enlightened.

“The call now therefore even as we welcome Obi to an alliance he has been part of from the beginning, is for Obidients and Atikulates to sheathe swords and make this happen.

“It is after all, our future and it is not safe at all under Tinubu.”
