Police Recruitment: Application Is Free, Don’t Pay Cyber Cafes, Agents – PSC

The statement warns against the false claim that part of the money is remitted to the Commission and other government authorities, adding that it would deal decisively with anyone found engaging in such fraudulent activities.

The Nigeria Police Service Commission (PSC) has warned cyber cafe operators against extorting money from individuals seeking to register for police recruitment.

Torty Njoku Kalu, Head, Protocol and Public Affairs, PSC Headquarters, Abuja in a statement said its attention has been drawn to reports of illegal charges of up to Fifteen Thousand Naira (₦15,000) or more being collected by some cyber cafes and their agents from applicants seeking to apply for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The statement warns against the false claim that part of the money is remitted to the Commission and other government authorities, adding that it would deal decisively with anyone found engaging in such fraudulent activities.

It said that no payment whatsoever is required from applicants at any stage of the process, adding that prospective applicants are strongly advised to personally visit the official recruitment portal directly, without necessarily involving third parties.
