A Nigerian woman’s emotional breakdown over her life accomplishments has triggered widespread reactions on social media after a video of her lament went viral.
The clip, shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday by user Teeniiola, shows the woman expressing deep frustration about what she described as her lack of progress at the age of 29.
In the video, the woman, who said she was born in 1997, repeatedly lamented that she had not attained any tangible success.
“1997 and I haven’t achieved anything. This is my house. No property, nothing. Nothing. I did not achieve anything,” she said.
Despite her distress, she acknowledged being grateful for life, even as she struggled with feelings of inadequacy.
“Just life. But thank God for life. But I did not achieve anything. Twenty-nine years, God,” she added.
The video has since generated intense conversations online, with many users expressing sympathy and sharing similar experiences of feeling pressured by age-related expectations.
#KLASSIQTUNEZ commented, ”lol … aunty you don’t need to pressure yourself, There are some 1994 borns both male and female that haven’t also achieved anything yet. Life will not be the same for everyone. Destiny can be delayed but will never be denied if there is hope and consistency.”
#Mistasam commented, “You are in good health. My former boss has been in the hospital for almost five years and spends over ₦12 million every week just to stay alive. Sometimes, he says he wishes there were someone he could give all his wealth to in exchange for good health.”
Another X user #the_oddmind wrote, “Hey babe, you have achieved a lot even with what seem little. Every dog has its one day.Your time will come. At 29, I had just two Jean trouser, a palm slipper, an old shoe, three old shirts, my university certificate and two native dresses while managing in a room teaching in private school. At 32 I was already earning 6 figure salary living my dream life and riding car. Life can change within a blink. Just pray and wait for your time while you already prepare wirh relevant skills and determination”.
#SmartwoobleØØ1 commented, “Instead of waking up to hate yourself that you have not achieved anything. Use that energy and put it into work this 2026. I understand things are hard. Check all the things you have done and do things differently.”
# Greatfuljoseph tweeted, “Be grateful to God and life . 1997 and you are complaining enter street and see people born in the 80s living under the bridge . You still have shelter and you are complaining.”
While some social media users said they could relate to her struggle, others encouraged her not to measure success solely by material possessions, urging her to focus on personal growth and long-term goals.
