University of Jos Shut Down As Student Protest Over Hike In School Fees.

The University of Jos has been shut down indefinitely after protest by student that started on Monday due to hike in school fees.

Security officials where called in on Tuesday to calm the situation but the a soldier attached the the special Taskforce on Jos crisis, instead of calming the situation opened fire on protesters leaving about 8 students with gun wounds including a blind student.

The University Registrar, Jully Dandam arranged a management meeting which the product of the meeting was that the University will  remain closed down until further notice.

The School management has asked all student to leave the school premises before 2pm as a way of cubing the violence and avoiding the crisis from moving to other part of the state.
