He questioned whether proposed societal solutions, such as permitting men to have multiple wives, would actually curb infidelity, stressing that personal discipline remains essential.

Nigerian cleric, Pastor Emmanuel Iren, lead pastor of Celebration Church International (CCI), has sparked wide conversations on faith, societal issues, and personal responsibility during a live Echooroom session, urging viewers to address questions often left unspoken.

During the discussion, Pst. Iren addressed what he described as the oversimplification of sin, noting that even the New Testament draws distinctions between different forms of wrongdoing.

He questioned whether proposed societal solutions, such as permitting men to have multiple wives, would actually curb infidelity, stressing that personal discipline remains essential.

The pastor also highlighted the social contributions of religious organisations, referencing schools and hospitals established by ministries, including the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and Winners’ Chapel. He noted that while calls for greater impact are valid, existing contributions should not be overlooked.

The conversation further touched on religious violence in Nigeria, with Pst. Iren questioning whether Christians are being deliberately targeted and cautioning against the politicisation of such statistics.

The session encouraged both believers and the wider society to reflect critically on complex moral and social issues, while emphasising the need for practical action alongside faith.
