Tension as Another Dead Body is Found Lying by the Roadside in Benue

 

 

Barely two days after the lifeless body of a kidnapped woman was found in Gboko, the dead body of another person yet to be identified has been found by the roadside at the North Bank area of the Benue State capital, Makurdi.

 

According to Daily Trust the lifeless body of the young man bore deep cuts, suggesting that he might have been axed to death.

 

Residents said the incident was the second in one week in the area as a corpse was removed from the spot last Tuesday.

 

The residents however said the incident might be a cult clash as the area is notorious for such activities.

 

People across the state now live in fear with rising cases of cultism and kidnapping.

 

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Mwuese Nmyim was at the weekend abducted on her way home from work but was rescued hours later, while an Igbo man whose name was given as Innocent Azubike was yesterday kidnapped in Gboko.

 

State Public Police Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Moses Yamu said he was yet to be briefed on the latest development.
