Ex-Governor, Fashola's Wife Reveals What She Did After Hearing Her Husband Might Have Another Family Outside Their Marriage

Former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola's wife, Abimbola Fashola, has shared how she dealt with rumours that her husband had another family while in office.

The former First Lady spoke while appearing alongside her husband on the Morayo Afolabi Show, where she addressed questions about stories that circulated during his time as governor.

According to her, the allegations never caused fear or tension in their home because of the strong relationship and open communication they share.

She said she first heard the rumour from her sisters, who told her that her husband was said to have another family in Magodo and was often seen going there.

Rather than panic or react emotionally, she explained that she remained calm and relied on spiritual guidance before taking any step.

She added that she eventually raised the matter with her husband directly, believing that there was nothing they could not discuss openly.

She said her husband was surprised by the allegation and questioned how often he had even been to Magodo, noting that his visits were mostly during campaign activities.

She said: “I heard a story from my sisters. They said your husband has another family in Magodo. I said, ‘Ah, my husband. Okay, not to worry,’ because the relationship we share, there’s nothing we don’t say to one another.

“It’s all about communication. Most times, when I hear things like that, I wait for the Holy Spirit to direct me.

“So I said, ‘Come, they say you have another family in Magodo, that you are always going there every day.’ He said, ‘Magodo? How many times have I been to Magodo? Maybe during campaign.”

Abimbola Fashola also spoke on her husband’s personality, addressing the public perception that he is always calm and never gets angry.

She said this assumption is not entirely true, explaining that while he is generally composed, he is human and can get angry like anyone else.

She said: “You know when God gives you an assignment, he supports you with it. That idea that he never gets angry is a lie.”
