In a recent interview, Omotola made it clear that while she loves dancing, she won’t do it as a marketing obligation.
Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has expressed her candid views on the increasing pressure for actors to perform dance routines on social media to promote their films.
In a recent interview, Omotola made it clear that while she loves dancing, she won’t do it as a marketing obligation.
According to her, the problem isn’t dancing itself, but why it’s being done.
She explained that dancing should come from genuine fun, not because it has become a compulsory tool to sell a movie. Once it turns into a chore or a requirement, she says it loses professionalism.
Omotola stressed that her job is to act and promote the project through interviews and conversations, while marketing and distribution should be handled by professionals whose responsibility it is.
“I already did the project,” she implied, adding that forcing creatives to perform extra stunts just to be seen isn’t how the industry should work.
