The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, February 10, 2026 has thrown both the university community and residents of the area into shock and mourning.
Lanem Moses Chianenter, a student from Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi (JOSTUM), Benue State, was found de@d near the Utambe residence in Ujam village, a community close to the university.
Chianenter was a 400 level student in the department of Animal Production.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, February 10, 2026 has thrown both the university community and residents of the area into shock and mourning.
According to sources within the community, the lifeless body was discovered near the student-populated settlement, prompting immediate distress calls to security operatives.
Police authorities have since commenced investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the d3ath.
Until his de@th, the deceased was the current serving President of the National Association of Ukum Students (NAUS) JOSTUM Chapter and the Financial Secretary of JOSTUM Students Union.
