Protesters on Tuesday stormed the National Assembly Complex for the second straight day, ramping up demands for the real-time transmission of election results from polling units to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s IREV portal.
Protesters were heard chanting, “We no go gree, we no go gree, Akpabio, pass the bill,” as demonstrators gathered at the entrance of the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
Some protesters were also heard chanting “Our vote must count.”
The demonstrators also carried placards bearing strong messages, including “Don’t alter the bill, pass it,” and “Rigging election is a coup,” alongside other inscriptions.
