Nigerian Immigration Officer Allegedly St@bbed To D3ath By His Wife In Abia

Chidiebere James, a 38-year-old Nigeria Immigration Service officer, who was popularly known as “Agali,” was allegedly st@bbed to d3ath by his wife in Abia State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred in Umuizi, Ekeoba Ohuhu, Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state on Monday, February 16, 2026. 

The crisis reportedly began a day earlier after the couple engaged in a heated argument over their sick child and the officer’s alleged inability to provide money for medical treatment. 

The disagreement was said to have been further complicated by accusations of infidelity after the wife allegedly discovered incriminating messages on the deceased’s mobile phone.

Family members, including the deceased’s sister, were said to have intervened and temporarily restored calm. 

However, tensions reportedly resurfaced early the following morning, leading to another confrontation inside the family residence.

During the renewed quarrel, the situation allegedly escalated into a physical struggle.

In the course of the altercation, the deceased’s phone was reportedly damaged, prompting him to seize and destroy his wife’s phone in retaliation. 

"The confrontation allegedly turned fatal when the woman allegedly picked up a pair of scissors and st@bbed him.

He was said to have collapsed shortly after the incident and was later confirmed d3ad at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia.

Sources in the community alleged that the wife attempted to flee the scene with the children shortly after the incident.

However, she was prevented as enraged youths gathered at the scene, with some allegedly attempting to attack her before she was rescued.
