The singer, widely known for her hit track Eleyele, became visibly emotional as she apologised to her supporters and admitted that she could no longer cope with the pressures confronting her career.
Busola Oke, a renowned Nigerian inspirational and gospel artist, has raised concern among her fans after breaking down in tears during a live Instagram session, where she candidly shared her ongoing challenges in the music industry.
The singer, widely known for her hit track Eleyele, became visibly emotional as she apologised to her supporters and admitted that she could no longer cope with the pressures confronting her career.
In the now-viral video, Oke wept openly while expressing frustration over what she described as the harsh realities of today’s music industry.
“To my fans, I’m sorry. I never planned to do this but I can’t take this anymore. I’m done. Good music don’t sell anymore. How can you eat when there’s no food? How can you be at peace when there’s no peace,” she said.
Her words reflected deep emotional exhaustion, as she suggested that talent and spiritual gifting were no longer sufficient to guarantee success in Nigeria’s competitive entertainment landscape.
The gospel act has reportedly been locked in a long-running dispute with her producer, Bayo Films, a development that has trailed her career in recent years.
During the live session, she hinted at feeling abandoned by many who once surrounded her during the peak of her success.
According to her, financial instability has made it difficult to find peace of mind, as she questioned how anyone could function without meeting basic needs.
“There can be no peace when there is no financial stability,” she implied, adding rhetorically that one cannot drive without owning a car.
