Umo Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, has fired back at critics accusing him of refusing to answer phone calls from members of the public.
Eno, during the monthly Covenant Service at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Uyo on March 1, 2026, described the allegations as both misleading and disrespectful.
Governor Eno argued that public criticism should be constructive rather than personal.
He said, “Stop saying the governor doesn’t pick your call. Am I your receptionist?
"Who are you that I should even pick your phone? It’s even an insult to be saying that to a governor, that I’m not picking your calls.”
